We enrolled Eli in pre-nursery this month, following in the footsteps of his brother Kieran who also started school at one-and-a-half years old. Many people have asked why we enroll Eli when we have help at home. The truth is Eli is wearing my mother-in-law out particularly as he has become a lot more active in recent months.
If you are not watching him closely, he may be found with all sort of things in his mouth (once even mud from Kieran's shoes) or digging the soil from our plants etc. Eli has also taken to throwing things, babbling very loudly and getting himself into all sorts of scrapes. He will sit still for a short while to read or watch TV but off he goes again after a couple of minutes. No wonder my in-laws are exhausted.
Thus, the decision was made to enroll Eli in pre-school as he is exhibiting signs of greater curiosity in the things and environment around him. Eli cried initially in the first two weeks of school but the crying is usually shortlived and the teachers report that he will soon start playing happily. He also has a hearty appetite!
