Out and about in Sep

Singapore has lots to offer and we spent this short vacation discovering some of the more interesting places on this little island. The Singapore Maritime Gallery was a great place to kick off our adventures. Find out about our country's maritime history in a fun and interactive way, which will surely delight the little ones. Our boys enjoyed navigating the seas and sighting container ships through the telescope.

Our fuel stop was the Pasir Panjang food centre whereby we discovered some famous eats including Seng Huat hokkien mee, Heng Huat char kway teow -- different from other versions we had with lots of greens and beansprouts -- and a very popular curry rice stall that was sold out by lunchtime.

Then Hubby D said we should visit Bukit Chandu since we were in the area. It is a lovely colonial house that tells the history of how Singapore fell to the Japanese in 1942.

For tea break, we went to Telok Ayer Street where our current favourite cafe haunts Sophie Bakery and Sarnies are located. Sophie Bakery serves an excellent almond croissant with kick-ass coffee while Sarnies' brownie is delicious.

Saturday saw Mummy and Kieran going to see Sensorium 360 at the Singapore Art Museum, which will fascinate both adults and kids.

We also visited the renovated Victoria Theatre and we loved how the introduction of more light into the building has made the place more airy and beautiful.
