The family woke up bright and early this morning on the day of our first trip outside of Palo Alto, California. Kieran was in fact the first to get out of bed probably because he knew that finally he would be taking the train. He had been eager to take the train ever since he arrived and this was his chance.
Without a car and with an active toddler with us, we decided just to wander about downtown San Francisco. We arrived via the Caltrain and proceeded to walk the six blocks down to Market Street (downtown), the main shopping belt. We also stumbled into Chinatown where we found the most delicious egg tarts at a bakery. Yum!
In the heart of the city, the lovely Yerba Buena Gardens is a great place to relax and take a rest. It also houses The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. He said, "I believe that the day will come when all God's children from bass black to treble white will be significant on the constitution's keyboard." I like that.

hi Soo Hwee, lovely pictures and a family of bliss! What's the name of the bakery that sells the most authentic egg tarts? Felicia
