Our first pit-stop on our driving trip to LA was Carmel by The Sea, a beautiful and quaint town about a two-hour drive from Stanford. It was a well-deserved break especially for Hubby D who had spent the past week huddled in the university library until the wee hours of the morning trying to meet the deadline for all his assignments due at the end of the quarter.
Carmel is actually pretty quiet on weekdays and it was simply delightful just taking a stroll downtown, poking into the stores selling everything from souvenirs to art and candy and venturing to the beach for some awesome views!
