Yosemite

Christmas was special this year for two reasons. We spent it in a foreign land and we got to experience snow as a family for the first time at the beautiful Yosemite National Park. The drive to the High Sierras where the park was located was scenic and beautiful. It reminded me once again what I loved most about the US -- the vastness of the country and the endless stunning views along some of its highways.

Despite ominous warnings of rain and possible snow showers during the weekend, the skies were clear when we visited the park on Christmas day. The highlight was spotting a family of deer while traveling on the shuttle that took us into the park.

Our little boy enjoyed his first white Christmas and had a good time throwing snowballs into the air and at his parents!
